If you are interested in parapsychology – the study of paranormal phenomena – this scholarship may be for you. Open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major, applicants must write an essay on a designated topic related to parapsychology.

Application Deadline: May of each year 

Award Amount: $1,500
If you are a Washington resident working on an undergraduate degree related to fiber art, then check out this scholarship. Your major must be related to fiber art (it doesn’t actually have to be quilting). Examples include sewing, weaving, fashion design, quilting, dyeing, basketry, textile history or production, and related arts.

Award Amount: $3,000 per year
Do you have a passion for groceries? Then look no further. This scholarship is open to upper-division and graduate students majoring in a field related to the grocery industry. Applicants must submit a statement about why they are pursuing a career in the grocery industry and a letter of recommendation from a food management or business professor.

Intelligence Community Scholarship Program
Application Deadline: November of each year 

Award Amount: $3,000 stipend for full-time students, and a $2,000 stipend for part-time students
If you dream of becoming a spy, this is the scholarship for you. This unique scholarship is open to American college juniors, seniors, and graduate students interested in working in the intelligence community. Applicants must be pursuing a field related to the Intelligence Association. List your special activities, internships, prior or current military services and your career goals to serve your country in the intelligence community.

Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Contest

Application Deadline: Open from March 18, 2013 to January 15, 2014 

Award Amount: $10,000 for the recipient and $1,000 for his or her school
Who doesn’t love a good greeting card? Open to high school, and college students, and members of the armed forces, applicants must submit a unique photo, artwork or computer graphic for the front of a greeting card. Designs should be appropriate for business and consumer use.

Star Trek StarFleet Command Scholarship Award
Application Deadline: Open from January 1 to June 30 each year

Award Amount: 20 scholarships of up to $500
